I was associate designer on this Production of 'Mala' at the CoHo theatre Portland. The play centered around a woman talking about her relationship with her mother as she watches her succumb to old age. There are themes of ice flows through out, in order to speak to that and afford interesting lighting opportunities, I created a set formed of hanging leaves of paper, torn as if pages form a book. To anchor the staging at her kitchen table, the  floor was covered in a homely linoleum patten in blues, cut to the shape of floating sea ice.
